Welcome to Ganapati Restaurant, home of south Indian cuisine here in Peckham.
The kitchen is the soul of a restaurant as it is of a home.
It is a place of hard work, companionship, and the sharing of skills and ideas. Our influences are the home style cooking and street food of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Ganapati is one of the south Indian names for the elephant-headed god Ganesh. He is the well-loved remover of obstacles, with a particular fondness for sweets.
Great night, tasting notes as follows:
Lamb Starter was amazing- scores:9
lamb main – spicy and dry, excellent: scores 8.
Chicken main on the bone was too much like an uncle Ben’s sweet and sour!!
Chefs special wasn’t really a ‘special’ – more like a dip selection!
Atmos scores 6 because we had to go to the pub because we were early. They struggled with service to a full restaurant (which consisted of two tables).
The Nann bread was this a pancake and their 2nd attempt at Nann was spectacular (wow factor). VERY tasty, food was really good . 7/10

Trustafarian vegan waitresses who’ve been on a gap yah to India were somewhat annoying. Lamb starter was top notch, lamb main was also great. Asked for it extra hot and they delivered! Breads a real let down. 7/10 Liked the brick brewery first!

I really enjoyed the difference of this curry joint. Fare was memorable and tasty and I did eat lots and lots and lots… I thought service was good despite other views of gap yah dittyness. I will definitely revisit, despite it’s remoteness.
Pre-visit to the brewery was a highlight, ’tis the new Shoreditch around the, doncha-know!
8/10
